Standard Adjustable Heads
US Drillhead manufactures a series of 2, 3 and 4 spindle Adjustable Heads to meet a wide range of manufacturing applications. Spindles are located in eccentric drums which are clamped into position to meet your particular center distance needs. The heads are manufactured from high quality aircraft aluminum castings with ball bearing and needle bearing construction. Hardened steel, class 10 ground gearing and grease lubrication allow for up to 1200 RPM speeds.

Universal Joint Style Heads
Universal Joint Style Multiple heads are manufactured in several sizes and styles from 6 to 12 Spindles. All are manufactured from Aircraft Aluminum Castings and have ball and needle bearing construction. These heads are grease lubricated with hardened steel class 10 gearing. The heads can be arranged to accept Arm Spindle assemblies and also Slip Plate mounted Spindle Assemblies for "Fixed Center Applications".

Standard Fixed Center Heads
Standard fixed center multiple heads are used when there is center distance, to allow all bearings and seals to be arranged on a common plane. This heavy-duty construction withstands the most rugged operations and provides long lasting, dependable service at the lowest cost. Cast from either Aluminum or Cast Iron and utilizing a “C” Housing, we can arrange our heads to meet your machines construction requirements. To insure accuracy, spindles construction uses full ball bearing construction and to insure many running hours of trouble free operation, our heads are equipped with class 10 ground gearings with various lubrication methods to insure long life.

Close Fixed Center Multiple Heads
When spindle centers are too close for the standard fixed center construction, the use of the close fixed center construction is needed. Cast from either Aluminum or Cast Iron and utilizing an “H” style housing the bearings can be staggered to allow for closer spindle centers. The “H” style housing also allows for multiple decks of gearing which allows us to gear to these close centers. To insure accuracy, spindles construction uses preloaded full ball bearing construction and to insure many running hours of trouble free operation, our heads are equipped with class 10 ground gearings with various lubrication methods to insure long life.

Close Fixed Center Specially Built Heads
This construction is used when features of the customer’s part and /or the machine limitations force the use of minimum construction requirements. Typically an “H” style housing with a double bottom plate which allows bearings to be staggered in a denser spindle pattern while still allowing for the best construction possible. The “H” style housing also allows for multiple decks of gearing which allows us to gear to these close centers. Spindles construction uses preloaded full ball bearing construction, where space will allow, and, in some cases needle bearings and ball thrust bearings are used to maintain a spindle diameter capable of handling the torsional loads. To insure many running hours of trouble free operation, our heads are equipped with class 10 ground gearings with various lubrication methods to insure long life.

Fixed Center Oil Circulating Heads
The oil circulating head is designed for production work where high operating speeds are encountered. The special oil system permits effective operation at extremely high speeds yet maintains normal temperature. Variations of this oil circulating construction are available for both vertical and horizontal applications, and can be incorporated into any of the three types of head designs.
